Wayne A. Bacchus
I am a Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia as well as a Notary Public in and for the Province of Nova Scotia. I graduated Dalhousie Law School with my LLB in 1999, I then secured an Articling Clerk position with Nova Scotia Legal Aid in Sydney. After articling in Cape Breton, I was called to the Nova Scotia Bar on June 15, 2001. I am a member of the Nova Scotia Barristers’ Society, and have been in continuous good standing with the Society since my call to the Bar.
I started my legal career in New Glasgow at a very busy personal injury law firm; two years later I embarked on my own private Practice. Since then I have worked in the Criminal law field both as Defence Attorney and Crown Attorney, as well as maintained my involvement with personal injury claims. I am still very active in these areas which represent the majority of my Practice.
Since 2002 I have been a member of The Atlantic Provinces Trial Lawyer Association, and The American Association for Justice. These groups are dedicated to protecting the rights of injury victims. I am also a member of the Nova Scotia Criminal Lawyers Association.
I grew up in Dartmouth and graduated from Prince Andrew High School. I have lived in Halifax or the Halifax area almost all my life; however, I am quite familiar with all corners of Nova Scotia given my travels related to law and my hobbies of golfing and whitewater canoeing.
I am involved with my community on a regular basis and currently a volunteer with Kinsmen club that adheres to the motto “Serving the Community's Greatest Need.” I am also with the Lawyer referral service.
I believe in steadfastness to a result and that justice should prevail. Attention to detail and strategic planning is how I ensure the latter; the former comes naturally.
